2003-Doctoral Dissertation. Perceptions of Texas A&M University Former Students about the Relevance and Value of Research Performed by the University. The goal was to carry out lengthy in-person interviews to assess the effectiveness of public relations programs.
2008-Examining How Mass Media in the USA and Europe Reacted to Corporate Naming of Professional Soccer Franchises. The goal was to assess media coverage and fan reaction related to Red Bull’s takeover of soccer teams in Austria and New Jersey.
2008-Identifying How NASCAR is using PR to Reach Out to Hispanic Fans. The goal of this ongoing project is to interview public relations professionals, marketers, and fans to learn how to grow fan support for stock car racing in the Southwest U.S.
2008-Gauging the Extent that American Corporations Developed "Brag Ads" to Profit During World War II. The goal of this ongoing project is to examine "patriotic" corporate advertisements and posters that were created to obtain government tax breaks.
2008-Using Focus Groups to Gather Stakeholder Preferences about Groundwater Management. The goal was to use focus groups to learn the priorities of the public and stakeholders regarding what the questions they want to be answered by simulation models.
2007-Using Communication Research to Develop a History of the Pecos River of Texas. The goal was to interviews long-time residents of the region to incorporate personal experiences into a broad history of how man has affected the Pecos River ecosystem.
2007-Identifying the Extent to Which Environmental Organizations Use Internet-Assisted Public Relations. The goal was to identify evolving trends in internet-mediated public relations related to the environment.
2007-Assessing How Houston Dynamo Responded to A Public Relations Crisis. The goal was to analyze how the franchise offended Hispanic fans when the team name "1836" was chosen.
